Candida’s Granola

Posted on

There are so many of these recipes out there. This one is a huge hit at my house. Everybody loves it! It’s full of nutrients, fiber, protein, healthy oils and omegas. It is moderately sweetened with whatever you like. I do a mixture of equal parts molasses, maple and honey. I might do some agave too. Depends on what I have and what I feel like. Then, I add my protein powder, almond yogurt and fruit. It is such a satisfying and nourishing way to start the day. Enjoy!

Candida’s Granola

5 1/2 cups of “stuff”- Nuts, Seeds, GF Oats, Perky’s Nutty Flax, Puffed Rice or Millet (I do about 3 cups of the cereals and 2 and 1/2 cups of nuts and seeds.)

1 Tbl Ground Flax Seed

14 Fresh Dates, chopped

2 Tbl of GF flour

1/3 cup sweetener of choice

1/4 cup Coconut or Canola Oil

1 tsp cinnamon

1/2 tsp cardamom

Mix all of the ingredients and spread over a greased cookie sheet. Bake at 325 degrees for 25-35 minutes. Stir and rotate every 10 minutes. It’s done when it’s golden brown. Remember that if you use molasses, it will be darker.
